While this can sometimes lead to occasional glitches, they’re typically resolved quickly. In fact, many issues may be fixed by the time you’re reading this. If you’ve noticed any disruptions this week, rest assured they likely aren’t unique to your account, and things will return to normal soon. Some users might express frustration over “low reach” compared to other platforms, but don’t let that deter you—Instagram remains one of the best platforms for brands and business.

LinkedIn Newsletters

Our highlighted post from this week is one that addresses whether brands and businesses should be on every social network. Hint: they shouldn’t.

Just like it’s nearly impossible to stop a runaway train, it is nearly impossible to be on every social platform.

In a recent blog, Seth Godin highlighted the first principle of risk reduction is to figure out if you can stop a train later. If you can’t, don’t start.

How does this relate to social media? It’s simple: if you create profiles on every social channel, the time commitment to continously create content, build a following and engage on all platforms will quickly overload even the most seasoned social media managers.

Instead of being everywhere, reduce your risk by selecting the channels that make sense for your business and the ones that you can actively maintain a presence on.
